ADDIS ABABA – The government of Ethiopia has decided to allow visa-free entry to citizens from Qatar, in a major relief to the citizens.
According to an official source from the Department of Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has opted to allow a three-month entry visa upon arrival in Ethiopia for citizens from Qatar.
However, this convenience comes with a stipulated fee, the amount of which is determined based on the duration of their stay in the country.
The decision marks a significant development in Ethiopia and Qatar’s diplomatic and travel relations.
Qatar, a Gulf nation, has a population of approximately 2.8 million. Its capital is Doha, known for modern skyscrapers and cultural attractions like the Museum of Islamic Art. The country boasts futuristic architecture, including the iconic Pearl-Qatar and the Aspire Tower.
On the other hand, Ethiopia, in East Africa, is home to around 120 million people. The capital, Addis Ababa, features the National Museum and Ethnological Museum. The country’s diverse landscapes include the Simien Mountains, ancient rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, and the Rift Valley. Ethiopia is rich in history, culture, and natural wonders.
