The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Authority has reacted to rumors about some restaurants serving dog meat to their customers.
In response to viral posts alleging that raids had uncovered dog meat at various restaurants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a spokesperson from the authority labeled these reports as fabricated and misleading.
The spokesperson stressed that no such incidents had occurred, calling the accusations an intentional attempt to create unnecessary fear and harm the reputation of the food industry.
Director General of the K-P Food Authority, Wasif Saeed, also addressed the rumors, urging the public to disregard these baseless claims. He emphasized the importance of relying on official information provided by the authorities rather than unverified social media reports.
Saeed reassured citizens that regular inspections of hotels and restaurants are carried out across the province to ensure food safety standards are met. He expressed concern over the actions of individuals spreading such misinformation, which not only causes panic but also damages the trust between consumers and the food industry.
