ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University to reconduct the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 in Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir issued the order as he accepted the petitions filed by the students over out-of-syllabus questions in the entry test.
The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University conducted the MDCAT 2024 in September 2024 in Islamabad and Kashmir region as thousands of aspirants appeared in it.
MDCAT is an entry test for admissions in MBBS and BDS.
Earlier this month, the Sindh High Court has ordered the authorities to re-conduct the MDCAT test within four weeks.
The high court judge issued the order on petitions filed against alleged irregularities in the test conducted earlier this year.
MDCAT 2024 was conducted by by Dow University of Health Sciences.
However, it came under fire from candidates and their parents, who accused the university administration of showing negligence while conducting the test.
Students and parents had urged the Sindh government to take immediate action against the university due to allegations of malpractice and mismanagement.
