MIRPUR – The University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir rolled out new modest dress code restricting students and staff from wearing jeans and T-shirts on campus. The university issued a circular mandating modest attire in line with local cultural and religious values.
The administration clarified that the intention behind this dress code is to promote discipline and respect for religious sentiments, rather than enforce strict rules. The guidelines are also aimed at enhancing the university’s positive image while fostering good morale and safety across its campuses.
According to the new regulations, female students are required to wear Shalwar Qameez along with a dupatta or gown, while male students and staff should opt for casual pants and shirts or Shalwar Qameez.
