Arms sale banned across Pakistan

In recent news, the Ministry of Interior issued a notification stating that apart from POF, no dealers are allowed to sell arms across the country. Local dealerships had been selling illegal bore weapons which has now come to a halt due to the notification issued by the Ministry of Interior.

In the notification, the Ministry states that only Pakistan Ordinance Factory is authorised to sell weapons in Pakistan, local dealerships are no longer authorised to sell weapons in Pakistan.

The notification also reads that local dealer receipts are no longer acceptable and Arms dealers are no longer allowed to sell illegal bore arms to licence holders as well. The licence holders can also buy weapons from POF and the licence will also be made on POF issued weapons. No other weapons or related licence will be acceptable.

Sources suggest that this notification came as a result of the recent increase in terrorist activities across the country as PAF Training base at Mianwali was also recently attacked by terrorists. Illegal weapon withholding has become quite an issue in Pakistan and the Ministry of Interior has taken notice.
