Police have filed a case against seven individuals after a man was allegedly shot dead following a disagreement over a delay in preparing barbecue for late-arriving wedding guests in Nawan Koh village, Sheikhupura, on Tuesday night.
A tragic incident occurred at a wedding event in Nawan Koh, where a barbecue caterer was shot and killed. Syed Sanaur Rehman, a resident of Mohalla Siddiqa Colony, filed a complaint stating that he was hired by Zygham Abbas to cater for a wedding on Sharqpur Road. After preparing barbecue for the initial guests, Rehman and his brothers were about to leave when additional guests arrived, and Zygham reportedly pressured them to prepare more food.
As they resumed cooking, some guests became frustrated with the delay in serving the food and allegedly opened fire. Rehman’s brother, Saleem Nasir, was struck by a bullet and died at the scene. Zygham and others reportedly fled the area after firing shots into the air.
The Bhikhi police have registered a case against Zygham Abbas, Khurram Abbas, Faisal Abbas, and four unidentified individuals under sections 302, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The victim’s body has been moved to a government hospital for postmortem examination as investigations continue into the incident.
