LAHORE – Construction industry plays a pivotal role in shaping the country’s economy. Due to the economic revival, cement prices have increased throughout the country. Sources suggest that there’s an increase of Rs 60 per bag of cement.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) shared data and unveiled the latest price of cement. Cement plays a pivotal role and as a binding agent for the blend of construction materials. According to PBS, the lowest or minimum price of a 50 kg of cement bag stands at Rs 1,265 while the maximum price can go up to Rs 1,400.

In November the price of the standard cement bag stood at Rs 1,271 in the Northern areas of Pakistan. Experts suggested that the increase in price is due to the increasing transporting or freight costs. The increase in fuel prices is the main reason for this surge in transport costs.
However, due to this the drivers have been overloading their vehicles upon which the government has lately imposed restrictions on how much load vehicles can carry.
