Indian Plane makes Emergency Landing at Karachi Airport as passenger fell Unconscious

An Indian plane made an emergency landing at Karachi Airport after a passenger on board fell unconscious due to extremely low sugar levels. Afterwards, the CAA doctor provided immediate medical assistance.

KARACHI – An Indian plane made an Emergency Landing at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi after a passenger fell unconscious due to extremely low sugar levels. The flight was originally headed from Ahmedabad to Dubai while the passenger fell ill when the flight was near Karachi.

Aviation sources suggest that it was one of India’s private Airlines known as SpiceJet. In-depth reports suggested that it was SpiceJet’s flight SG-15 headed for Dubai.

The flight took off from India at 8:38 pm and after 45 minutes an Indian passenger with the name Dhruv Dharimesh Kumar, aged 27-year felt ill due to extremely low sugar levels. At that time the flight was over the Arabian Sea near Karachi Airport.

The pilot of flight SG-15 immediately contacted the Karachi Air Traffic Control Tower and requested for an emergency landing. The plane was allowed to land at Karachi airport on humanitarian grounds. The 747 landed at Karachi at 9:20 pm.

Medical team of the Civil Aviation Authority was already present on the ground and as soon as the flight landed they treated the patient. Afterwards, when the patient’s health stabilised, the flight thanked the medical officials at Karachi, refueled and took off for Dubai at 11:00 pm.

An incident like this also took place in October 14 when an flight heading for Amritsar took off from UAE and as the plane was above Balochistan, a passenger had a medical emergency after which the flight landed at Jinnah International Airport Karachi, was treated by the Civil Aviation Authority’s medical professional and took off near 2:55 pm.
