DEA Lahore seals private schools for breaking winter holiday rules

The District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore has sealed several private schools for operating during winter holidays, warning of strict action against violators.

The inspections targeted schools operating during the scheduled vacation period, ensuring compliance with education department rules. According to the authority’s spokesperson, the schools located in Shahdara, Bedian Road, and Sabzazar were found open despite the ongoing holidays. Following the inspections, the principals of the respective schools have been summoned to provide explanations for the violations.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat expressed a firm stance against such breaches. He clarified that no private school is permitted to operate before the official end of the vacation period. The minister emphasized that these measures are necessary to maintain discipline and uphold education policies across the province. He further warned that strict actions will be taken against any school found violating the rules in the future. The concerned Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Education have been directed to monitor compliance closely and ensure timely enforcement of regulations.

Education officials stated that these surprise inspections are part of a broader effort to maintain standard operating procedures in private educational institutions. By enforcing the vacation schedule strictly, the authorities aim to set a clear precedent and ensure that schools follow government guidelines without exception.
