Death in Service Benefits Changed for Government Employees, Check new Details here

The Government of Punjab has issued a new notification in which they announced the change in benefits given to families of government employees who died during service.

The notification states that the support for families whose members died while being a government employee has been increased.

According to the new notification, after the death of a government employee from BS1 to 11, no further job allotment will be provided to the family he leaves behind.

However, there’s good news for Federal Employees who have completed 7 years of minimum service successfully. 

In service Death Benefits Changed for Government Employees 2024

According to the notification, if a government employee between Scale 1 to 4 dies, the family will be compensated with Rs 50 lac by the government. If an employee between Scale 5 to 10 dies in service, the family would receive Rs 75 lac a compensation.

Similarly, if an employee between Scale 11 to 15 dies during service, the family would receive Rs 10 million and if an employee of Scale 16 and 17 dies during service, the family would receive a whopping Rs 15 million. Lastly, if an employee of Scale 18 to 22 passes away during service, the family would receive an amount of Rs 20 million.

Moreover, the minimum salary of Federal Government employees will be set at Rs 32,000.
