The Power Division has issued a report detailing the restoration of electricity in flood-affected areas.
Power supply has been badly affected in several regions after heavy rains and floods damaged grids and feeders, but restoration work is underway on an urgent basis. According to a report from the Power Division, 48 grids and 455 feeders across multiple distribution companies were impacted. Out of these, 170 have been fully restored while 256 have been temporarily restored to ensure electricity supply in affected areas. In PESCO regions including Swat, Buner, Shangla, Swabi, and DI Khan, 12 grids and 91 feeders went out of service. However, 85 feeders have now been fully restored and 6 partially restored. Similarly, GEPCO reported 10 grids and 87 feeders affected, of which 82 feeders have been fully restored and 5 partially.
In LESCO areas such as Lahore, Okara, Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana, 62 feeders were disrupted. So far, 43 have been partially restored, and complete restoration is expected between September 2 and September 5. FESCO areas, including Faisalabad, TT Singh, Chiniot, Jhang, Sargodha, and Mianwali, also suffered damage, with 26 grids and 76 feeders affected. Out of these, 72 feeders were temporarily restored. In MEPCO areas, 126 feeders have been temporarily restored, while complete work will begin once floodwater recedes.
In TESCO regions covering North Waziristan and Khyber, 10 feeders were affected. Out of these, one has been fully restored and four temporarily. Meanwhile, in Mansehra under HAZECO, two out of three feeders are now fully functional. The Power Division has assured that full restoration of electricity in all flood-hit regions remains a top priority, and repair teams are working continuously to normalize supply.
