Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed across Pakistan on Monday, March 31, 2025, following the completion of 29 days of Ramadan, the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has said.
The Shawwal moon is expected to be visible across most parts of Pakistan on the evening of Sunday, March 30, if weather conditions remain clear, according to the Council’s Secretary General Khalid Ijaz Mufti.
The new moon will be born on Saturday, March 29, at 3:58 PM Pakistan time. By sunset on Sunday, the crescent will be over 26 hours old, making it easily visible to the naked eye. For clear sighting, the moon must be at least 18 hours old at sunset with a minimum gap of 40 minutes between sunset and moonset.
While the research council has forecasted the sighting, the final announcement will come from the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, during a meeting on March 30.
Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, is one of Pakistan’s most significant religious celebrations. Families gather for special prayers, festive meals, and celebrations across the country.
