Terrorists have blown up main transmission gas pipeline in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district, which was supplying gas to Punjab, local police said on Wednesday.
A gas pipeline from Bettani Gas Field was once again targeted by terrorists near Wandah Ameer in the Torwah area, causing a major fire and heavy gas leakage. This blast has badly affected gas supply to Punjab. According to police, explosives were planted to damage the pipeline. The same spot was attacked just a week ago, showing a worrying pattern of repeated sabotage in the area.
After the explosion, police and gas company officials reached the location. The area was secured, and repair work started quickly to reduce supply disruption. Emergency teams are also working to control the fire and examine the damage. This latest attack is being seen as a serious act against important national infrastructure. It not only affects energy supply but also creates panic among locals.
Police have begun an investigation to find those responsible. Due to repeated attacks in the past, security around key gas lines is now being reviewed and tightened. Authorities say they are working hard to fully restore the pipeline and stop such incidents from happening again in the future.
