The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports on Monday announced a significant expansion of its Fast Track passport facility.
The Fast Track passport service, initially available in seven major cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, has now been expanded to 47 cities. Originally extended to 21 cities, the service has now been further broadened to include 26 additional cities, making it more accessible to the public.
The newly added cities are Attock, Haripur, Chakwal, Batkhela, Sargodha, Swabi, Bhalwal, Nowshera, Hafizabad, Karak, Mianwali, Mansehra, Bhakar, Muzaffarabad, Kohat, Mirpur (AJK), DI Khan, Bagh, Swat, Rawalakot (Pooneh), Abbottabad, Kotli, Bannu, Sudhanoti, Hangu, and Bhimber. This expansion is aimed at providing faster passport processing services in these regions, helping to reduce waiting times for passport applications.
The Directorate General has instructed zonal heads to ensure the quick and effective implementation of this service. The Passport Processing System (PPS) is also being updated to include these new cities in the Fast Track category. The notification, issued by Hafiz Abdul Nasir, Assistant Director (Policy-I), has been circulated to relevant authorities, including Pakistan Post, to ensure broad awareness and smooth operation of the service.
This expansion is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve public services and make passport processing more convenient and efficient for citizens across the country.
