Govt declares a public holiday on September 23

According to Arab media, Saudi Arabia has declared September 23 a national holiday to mark its 95th National Day, which will be celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm.

The annual celebration honors the historic decree of King Abdulaziz in 1932, which united Nejd and Hejaz to establish the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. National Day was first celebrated in 1965 during the reign of King Faisal. Later in 2005, King Abdullah issued a royal decree declaring the day a permanent official holiday.

Since then, the event has been observed nationwide with cultural pride and national unity. According to Arab media, this year’s National Day theme is Our Pride is in Our Nature, reflecting the deep connection of the Saudi people with their traditions, cultural values, and natural heritage. The Kingdom has lined up a series of grand events to mark the day. Celebrations will feature fireworks, drone shows, aerial performances by the Saudi Hawks, cultural programs, traditional dances, and exhibitions.

Major cities, including Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, will host special activities, while iconic buildings and landmarks across the country will be illuminated with green lights to symbolize national pride. Authorities have announced that both citizens and expatriates will enjoy the public holiday, giving everyone an opportunity to participate in the festivities.

Public and private organizations have also planned activities in line with the theme to showcase Saudi Arabia’s heritage, resilience, and vision for the future. The National Day celebrations are expected to draw huge crowds in public spaces, with families, tourists, and residents coming together to witness the vibrant displays and events.
