Important Update announced for Expired and Foreign Driving License by Lahore Traffic Police

In a new update, the Lahore Traffic Police has announced that they will not arrest individuals who have an expired driving license or a foreign driving license. Earlier a statement was issued upon which SHOs were strictly ordered to arrest such individuals.

The Lahore Traffic Police has now stated that individuals bearing an official learner’s permit or an expired driving license will not be arrested. The individuals bearing a foreign driving license are also exempted from arrest.

No fine or case will be filed against individuals carrying an expired or foreign license. Earlier the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department had issued strict orders to all high-profile individuals of the Traffic Police to arrest individuals that are not carrying any driver’s permit or license. 

The order came due to the incident that claimed the lives of six members of the same family in a traffic accident caused by a juvenile driving without any learner’s permit or driving license. Ever since then, strict measures have been taken by the Traffic Police to ensure such individuals are strictly punished and fined.
