Can a Learner Driving License save you from a Rs 2,000 fine in Punjab? Check details

In a recent news, Traffic Police has announced that they will not file cases on individuals who have valid driver’s permit as well. Several cities such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Sahiwal, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, and Sargodha are exempted from a case if their individual is carrying a valid driver’s permit.

The new notification has been issued by the Traffic Police Department stating that individuals bearing an official driver’s permit or a foreign license will be exempted from a case being filed on them. However, they will still be fined Rs 2,000 if they hit any major roads.

These strict policies came in the wake of a major accident that took place in DHA phase-7, Lahore which claimed the lives of 6 individuals of the same family. The culprit was a minor and speeding without any designated official driving permit or legal document.

Afterwards, the Traffic Police had been taking strict measures to ensure the safety of citizens and filing cases on underage driving and driving without a valid driving license.

This is why the majority of Khidmat Markaz and Centers across Punjab are crowded as citizens are trying to acquire driving licenses and permits as soon as possible to avoid fines and challans.
