Following the vision of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the instructions of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has launched a citizen-friendly mobile app named 1INFO to improve public safety and enable instant communication between citizens and law enforcement.
The app can now be downloaded from the official Islamabad Police website, the Apple Store, and theGoogle Play Store. According to a police spokesperson, the 1INFO app offers two main features: an emergency panic button and an information sharing option. The emergency panic button lets users call for immediate police help with just one press. Once activated, Islamabad Police rescue teams are alerted instantly and reach the user’s location without delay.
The information sharing feature allows citizens to report crimes or safety concerns by sending voice notes, pictures, or videos. People can also report any suspicious activity in their area while keeping their identity confidential. The ICT Police have requested all residents of Islamabad to download the app, saying it will help them get quicker police assistance in emergencies. It also gives people a safe and easy way to share information or concerns about public safety.
Officials said the 1INFO app is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to bring modern technology into policing and provide digital convenience to the public. This step follows a broader plan by the Interior Ministry and Islamabad Police to use technology for improving law enforcement services and building stronger connections with the community.
