The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has prohibited the release of salaries and pensions before the first day of every month.
It explained that payments made during the last days of October created administrative difficulties, which affected routine financial work. Therefore, the department has now made it compulsory that all salaries and pensions must be released strictly on the first day of every month. Moreover, the Finance Department directed all institutions to follow this rule without any exceptions so future complications can be avoided. It stated that the change will help improve administrative efficiency and ensure smoother financial processing within provincial departments.
As a result, all government offices are now required to comply with the new regulation to prevent any delays or disruptions in salary disbursement. In addition to this development, the provincial government is also moving toward a modern digital pension system. Earlier, the Ehsaas e-pension system was approved for government employees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The new system will come into effect on January 1, 2026, after the Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, gave final approval.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister’s Secretariat has already prepared the concept paper, and the Finance Department has been instructed to initiate implementation. Through this system, pensions for new retirees will shift from the traditional paper-based method to a fully paperless digital process. This new dashboard will operate as a web-based platform with a complete digital workflow. Under the system, employees will be able to submit their pension applications six months before retirement by filling out a simple online form. This initiative aims to reduce delays, increase transparency, and make pension processing faster and more efficient for government workers across the province.
