The KPK Caretaker Chief Minister, Azam Khan passed away today, Saturday morning. He was admitted to the hospital on Friday. After his shocking death, a question has been posed by several members of the Cabinet regarding the dissolution of the KP Cabinet.
As per his brief, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet has now been disbanded until further notice due to the tragic death of Azam Khan.
The former secretary of ECP Kanwar Muhammad pointed out that after the death of the CM, the cabinet has automatically been dissolved. Governor Haji Khan now holds the executive authority and power temporarily as per the constitution.
Moreover, he also stated that the KPK will now witness a transition in power due to the death of the Caretaker CM Azam Khan. He further went on to state that a party of 6 members of the Senate committee will be tasked with the appointment of the new CM. If due to unforeseen circumstances, the committee fails to appoint a CM within the specified time period, the electoral body will take charge and following the CMs appointment he will forge a new cabinet.
