KP government rolls out mobile app to support flood-affected families

Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur inaugurated the “Digital Disaster Compensation Management” app to ensure transparent and timely compensation for flood victims.

The app was developed by the KP Information Technology Board and is linked with the government’s central service delivery platform Dastak. Through this digital system, families impacted by floods can upload details of property damage, file claims, and receive compensation online without visiting government offices. The process is fully paperless and cashless, making it easier for victims to access financial assistance. The app also uses geo-tagging technology to verify reported damages and reduce the chances of false claims.

A special dashboard will allow the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, and senior officials to monitor real-time data on losses and payments. This feature aims to ensure accountability and transparency at every stage of the compensation process. During the launch ceremony, the Chief Minister described the initiative as a major step toward modernizing disaster management in the province. He praised the IT Board for developing the application in record time and highlighted that the system would provide speedy relief to families while building public trust.

Officials explained that the new app is part of the government’s broader strategy to integrate technology into service delivery and improve response mechanisms during natural disasters. They emphasized that transparent monitoring of funds and quick verification of claims would help victims rebuild their lives faster. The provincial government assured that relief operations in flood-affected areas would continue alongside the new digital compensation process. Authorities believe the app will set a model for efficient disaster management and help the province deal with emergencies in a more organized way.
