Lahore Introduces New Traffic Arrangements for Cattle Markets

The Lahore City Traffic Police has set the traffic plan for six cattle markets ahead of Eid ul-Adha.

Under the plan, six DSPs and 18 sector in charges will oversee operations. In addition, six forklifts will remove encroachments and illegally parked vehicles to keep roads clear. Six forklifts will clear encroachments and remove vehicles that are parked without authorization. This will help keep the roadways clear. As a result, we should improve the flow of traffic around market areas. The police restricted loader rickshaws and Qingqi rickshaws on Canal Road.

This was done to improve safety on the road. The CTO announced that extra staff are now at Dharampura, Mughalpura, and Thokar Niaz Baig to enforce the ban. He pointed out that unsecured loads like iron rods and steel pipelines can be dangerous to commuters. The traffic police also took action against auto rickshaw drivers. They directed that passengers should not sit next to the driver. This helps to lower incidents and improve passenger safety. Wardens will help with parking, crowd control, and keeping entry and exit areas clear.

Police and traffic teams will work together to keep everyone safe and manage traffic. They will also keep emergency response ready in case of incidents. The police reminded everyone to follow traffic signs. They also asked people to park in designated lots. Drivers should not park large vehicles on narrow streets. Working with the police will keep traffic flowing.
