Latest gas schedule for Quetta by SSGC

The Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) has revealed a new gas supply plan for the upcoming summer season in Quetta.

A new gas supply schedule has been introduced to ensure full-pressure and uninterrupted gas service during important hours. Under this plan, consumers will get gas from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm, making it easier for households to plan cooking and daily activities without facing low pressure issues. However, gas supply will remain suspended from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am.

This step aims to manage existing resources better and ensure fair distribution during high-demand hours. Authorities have urged consumers to adjust their usage accordingly to avoid inconvenience during non-supply hours.

In a major development on the energy front, Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) has announced the discovery of new oil and gas reserves in North Waziristan. The reserves were found at the Spinwam-1 Well in the Karghar Formation. According to the company, the well is currently producing 20.48 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMCFD) and 117 barrels of oil daily. This is the second successful discovery from the same well.

The newly found reserves are expected to contribute significantly to meeting the country’s growing energy demands. MPCL said this discovery will help reduce the gap between energy supply and demand.

Earlier, in July 2024, MPCL also discovered new gas reserves from five different wells in Sindh. Gas from the Ghazi Gas Field is now being supplied to the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

These efforts are part of broader national energy development, aimed at reducing reliance on imports and strengthening local production.
