RAWALPINDI – Commuters in Rawalpindi are facing issues as the district administration suspended the Metro Bus Service (MBS) in garrison city amid protest organized by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at Liaquat Bagh today, September 28.
As per the recent updates, Metro Bus routes from Saddar Station to IJP Road will remain suspended while Bus service will continue to operate in capital city Islamabad.
Punjab government also imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi, effective for two days, on September 28 and 29, in response to PTI’s call for a peaceful demonstration.
Para-military Rangers have been deployed to ensure law and order, with a notification sent to the federal government regarding their presence. PTI initially sought permission to hold a public rally in Rawalpindi, but after the government denied it, the party opted for a protest to advocate for the release of their incarcerated leader, Imran Khan.
