The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has temporarily closed several service centers in Punjab following heavy rains and flooding that have badly disrupted daily life in the province.
The step aims to protect both citizens and staff as heavy rains continue to disrupt life in various districts. The affected centers include Vanike Tarar, Hafizabad, Jalalpur Bhattian, 18 Hazari in Jhang, Ahmad Nagar in Chiniot, Midh Ranjha in Sargodha, Kari Sharif in Gujrat, Kotli Loharan in Sialkot, Syedpur in Sialkot, Khidmat Markaz in Sialkot, and Depalpur in Okara. These facilities will remain closed until further notice.
To minimize inconvenience, NADRA has urged citizens in these areas to use nearby operational centers. In addition, mobile registration vans have been deployed in adjoining districts to handle the increased demand for services. In a separate initiative, NADRA will also launch a Mobile Registration Drive in the United Kingdom to provide easier access for overseas Pakistanis. The service will be available on August 30, 2025, at two locations. In Blackburn, Manchester, the facility will operate from 10 am to 4 pm, while in Sheffield, Bradford, it will be available from 9 am to 4 pm.
Through this drive, overseas Pakistanis will be able to renew their Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs), apply for National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOPs), and obtain Family Registration Certificates (FRCs). The Punjab government has also taken timely precautionary measures in flood-hit areas such as Ferozewala to safeguard lives. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and are appealing to citizens to cooperate and follow advisories for their own safety.
