Pakistan Air Force has reportedly inducted a new early warning and control aircraft (AEW&C) into its fleet based on the Saab 2000.
The induction has strengthened the fleet of Pakistan air force as prior early warning aircraft were also present.
Pakistan Air Force reportedly had 8 early warning aircrafts in its fleet as the induction took place back in 2006 and 2007.
However, the induction was reduced to 4 after 2005. Sources suggest that Pakistan has 7 AEW & C aircrafts in the fleet right now.
Some of them were reportedly damaged in the attacks that happened in Minhas Airbase but the planes were reportedly back in operation after the PAF fixed them.
However, one of the planes was still taken off grid as it was severely damaged during the attacks at the Minhas Air Base.
The 23058 is capable of amazing feats with as i can sense anime and hostile aircrafts from more than 300+ kms away.
In February of 2018, Pakistan had also acquired radars from Saab and now the induction of the new AEW&C has also been confirmed.
The Saab AEW & C is equipped with the AESA system that has an impressive detection range of more than 450 kms.
Moreover with the latest sensory tech, the aircraft is capable of transmitting bulk data to friendly air units and ground units as well.
