New German visa policy for Pakistanis in Ramadan

The German Consulate in Karachi has announced revised operational hours for passport collection during the holy month of Ramadan, adjusting its schedule to facilitate applicants observing the month-long fasting period.

Passport collection will be available from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, throughout Ramadan. The regular schedule will resume after Eid al-Fitr, expected around March 31, 2025. This change aligns with broader policy adjustments in public and private sectors during the holy month to facilitate applicants.

Meanwhile, the US Embassy has updated its online visa appointment system. Applicants must now create a profile before scheduling their appointments.

There are also reports that the US government is considering stricter travel restrictions for several countries, including Pakistan. An official statement is expected next week, with analysts speculating tougher entry requirements for Pakistani visa applicants.
