New Rules in Lahore Ban Bikers Without Helmets from THESE Roads

LAHORE – Authorities in Lahore are enforcing stern traffic rules, and now bikers without helmets will not be allowed on these specific roads.

Traffic police launched rigorous enforcement operation targeting bikers who are not using helmets or riding without valid driving licenses at major city entry and exit points.

Under new rules, bikers without helmet will not be allowed to commute on Ravi Bridge, Saggian, Thokar Niaz Baig, Babu Sabu, Ada Plot, Nawaz Sharif Interchange, and 10 areas such as Harbanspura, Gajjumata, and Bhatta Chowk.

In first phase, bikers riding without helmets will enter city after paying a fine. However, from next week onward, there will be no entry. The authorities also planning to address use of LPG cylinders by rickshaws and public transport vehicles.

Lahore’s CTO started a new campaign targeting motorcyclists who do not hold valid driving licenses. Offenders will be fined Rs. 2,000 and their motorcycles will be impounded until a valid license is produced.

A driving license costs Rs930 and urged compliance with the law while, previous 42-day learner permit validity has been abolished, meaning motorcyclists must now have a full license to operate on public roads.

To aid the public, 10 new driving license testing centers have been established across Lahore, with over 500,000 residents already utilizing these services this year.
