The residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been experiencing pleasant weather and frequent heavy rainfall over the past few days as the Monsoon season sets in across the country.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that the showers are expected to continue throughout the day, keeping temperatures slightly lower. Moist currents from both the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are entering most regions of Pakistan. A westerly wave is also present, which is supporting rainfall in northern and central areas.
The PMD has forecast hot and humid weather for most parts of the country. However, rain, wind, and isolated thundershowers are likely in Kashmir, Islamabad, Upper Punjab, the Potohar region, and upper and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A few areas may also see heavy rain during this period. In Islamabad, the weather remains pleasant with the temperature recorded at 28°C. Humidity stands at 72%, and winds are blowing at a mild speed of 5 km/h. No major precipitation has been recorded yet, but scattered showers are expected later in the day.
Weather experts say this change is temporary and the heat will likely return once the current weather system weakens. Meanwhile, the public is advised to stay cautious during heavy rain, especially in low-lying areas that may face water accumulation. The PMD continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates if any significant weather changes occur.
