Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police foiled a terror attack on the Gambila police station in Lakki Marwat.
Police in Lakki Marwat successfully foiled a major terrorist attack on the Gambila police station when 10 to 12 armed men tried to storm the facility early in the morning. The attackers had taken strategic positions around the station but were spotted in time by alert officers. The police opened fire immediately, forcing the terrorists to flee. No injuries or casualties were reported among the police force.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed appreciated the quick and brave action of the officers, while RPO Bannu Sajjad Khan also praised the local police for protecting the area with timely action. In a related operation, security forces prevented a cross-border infiltration attempt near the Pak-Afghan border in Hassan Khel, North Waziristan. According to ISPR, the attackers belonged to an Indian-sponsored militant group called Fitna Al-Khawarij. Around 30 militants were killed in the operation, and a large amount of weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the site.
The military’s action was described as swift and decisive, underlining Pakistan’s firm stance against cross-border terrorism. ISPR once again urged the Afghan interim government to stop the use of its territory for attacks inside Pakistan. It also emphasized that lasting peace in the region depends on eliminating safe havens for such foreign-backed elements. Both incidents highlight the growing challenges along Pakistan’s western borders and the firm resolve of security forces to defend the country against external threats.
