Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Donald Trump on winning the 2024 US Presidential Election, calling it a “historic victory” for a second term.
In a message, the prime minister said he was excited about working with the new government in Washington to improve ties between the United States and Pakistan.
“I look forward to working closely with the incoming administration to further strengthen and broaden the Pakistan-US partnership,” Shehbaz wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), also congratulated Donald Trump on his “election and historic comeback” as U.S. President.
Bhutto Zardari expressed hope for a more peaceful world by calling the win a “resounding” endorsement for Trump and his supporters.
Bilawal tweeted, “The people of America have given him and his team a resounding victory,” tagging notable individuals such as Tulsi Gabbard, Robert Kennedy Jr., J.D. Vance, and Elon Musk.
He referred to the victory as an “anti-war mandate” and expressed the hope that Trump’s government will put peace first and try to lessen foreign hostilities.
