The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has postponed today’s planned rally in the federal capital on the instructions of party founder Imran Khan.
According to PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan, the party founder has issued directives calling for the cancellation of Thursday’s rally.
PTI Islamabad rally date revealed
The PTI had previously announced their Thursday jalsa despite the revocation of the non-objection certificate (NOC) that was granted earlier to the Imran Khan-founded party.
The deputy commissioner allowed PTI to hold rally in Islamabad on September 8 and the NOC has also been handed over to PTI leaders.
Now the rally will be held on September 8.
According to barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Imran Khan told Azam Swati to cancel today’s jalsa as to avoid any confrontation.
Schools closed in Islamabad
Earlier the district administration of Islamabad had sealed the red zone and announced a holiday for both public and private schools in Islamabad on Thursday.
According to a notification, all public and private schools within the revenue limit of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) are observing holiday on August 22.
