Punjab Police has introduced free skill development programs for children of its personnel who are unemployed, aged 16 or above, and have completed matriculation.
The training sessions will be held at Sundar Industrial Estate and will focus on developing practical skills in various trades. The courses will cover hands-on training in stitching, textile operations, and fabric cutting. This step aims to equip participants with employable skills to help them secure jobs or start small businesses in the textile and garment sectors.
In this regard, a formal notification has been issued to police stations and departments across Punjab. All interested police personnel have been asked to submit their children’s information to the Welfare Branch within two days using the official form provided.
The initiative is part of a broader welfare program to support families of police officers by creating job-ready skills for their dependents. Authorities believe that such efforts will not only support the financial well-being of these families but also help reduce unemployment among the youth.
The training will be free of cost, and those completing the program successfully may also get job placement support. This move reflects the government’s focus on skill-based development and public sector welfare reforms.
Police officials have appreciated the move and encouraged their colleagues to take full advantage of this opportunity for their children’s better future.
