SCO regional anti-terror chief calls on CJCSC

Executive Director of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Major General Ularbek Sharsheyev met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), at the Joint Staff Headquarters on Saturday.

A high-level meeting between Pakistan and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (SCO RATS) took place to discuss regional security and ways to strengthen counter-terrorism cooperation. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) shared this update in a press release.Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) praised the efforts of SCO RATS for encouraging regional unity against terrorism. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm commitment to promoting sustainable peace, not only in the region but also at the global level.

Both sides exchanged views on the changing security environment and stressed the need for joint efforts to combat terrorism effectively. They agreed that regional cooperation is essential for long-term peace and stability.The visiting delegation appreciated the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism. Officials highlighted Pakistan’s role as a key partner in regional and international peace missions.

The meeting also focused on enhancing collaboration through information sharing, joint training programs, and coordinated actions against terror threats. Both parties agreed to continue regular interactions and deepen mutual support under the platform of SCO RATS. The dignitaries admired Pakistan’s contributions towards maintaining peace and stability, noting that the country has always taken a leading role in anti-terror initiatives.
