KARACHI: The Sindh government has notified public holidays on the occasion of Ashura 2024.
The Sindh Department of Services, General Administration and Coordination in a notification stated that July 16 and 17 (Tuesday and Wednesday) would be observed as public holidays across the province to coincide with 9th and 10th Muharram 1446 AH.
The provincial government has already banned the use of drones and loudspeakers, brandishing weapons, and wall chalking from 1st to 10th Muharram across the province.
The notification comes in the wake of federal government’s announcement wherein it declared the 16th and 17th of July as public holidays on account of Ashura 2024.
