Terrorists attack police training school, several martyred in DI Khan

Security forces successfully foiled the terrorist attack on the Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan after a fierce operation.

According to police officials, the attack began around 8:30 pm, when terrorists attempted to enter the training center. The quick response from the police and security agencies prevented a large-scale tragedy. The joint operation was completed late at night after all attackers were neutralized. Tragically, seven police officers were martyred while bravely fighting the terrorists. Hospital sources confirmed that 13 injured personnel were shifted to the trauma center at DHQ Hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.

Officials said that during the attack, heavy firing and explosions were heard in the surrounding area, spreading panic among nearby residents. However, the security forces immediately cordoned off the site and launched a full-scale counter-operation. According to the DG Public Relations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, around 200 police recruits and officials who were present inside the training school at the time were safely evacuated. All sections of the building, including the NADRA office and adjoining blocks, were declared clear after a detailed search.

Authorities have increased security across the city and launched an investigation to identify the network behind the attack. The latest incident has once again highlighted the growing security challenges in the region. However, the swift and coordinated action by Pakistan’s security forces successfully prevented what could have been a devastating terrorist assault.
