Karachi, Pakistan’s bustling coastal city, is preparing for a weather change on August 20 and 21, 2025, with forecasts predicting thundery showers along with partly cloudy skies, as per reliable meteorological reports.
According to forecasts, the city will see warm and humid weather with the possibility of urban flooding, a recurring issue during the monsoon season. On Wednesday, thundery showers are likely in the morning, accompanied by a gentle breeze. Daytime temperatures are expected to peak at 33°C and drop to 26°C at night. Winds will blow from the northwest at moderate speed, while hazy conditions may reduce visibility. The Weather Channel has reported a 40 percent chance of rain with isolated thunderstorms, shifting to cloudy skies by afternoon. AccuWeather has also warned of a strong morning thunderstorm, urging residents to remain cautious of waterlogging and flooding in low-lying areas.
According to BBC Weather, clouds in the morning will likely give way to partly clear skies later in the day, providing some relief after Wednesday’s showers. However, haze will continue to linger, which may still affect visibility and air quality. Meteorologists note that August in Karachi usually brings humid conditions, with frequent rainfall and an average temperature close to 31°C. The predicted showers could disrupt travel and outdoor activities, but Thursday’s lighter skies may offer a better chance for outdoor plans. Authorities advise residents to carry umbrellas, follow weather alerts, and use masks if haze thickens to avoid health concerns.
