US President Donald Trump has announced plans to take measures aimed at easing the recent tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said he had always been successful in resolving conflicts and would make another effort to ease tensions between the two neighboring countries. He recalled that during his previous term, he helped prevent a possible war between Pakistan and India through trade and tariff measures. Trump described himself as an expert in conflict resolution and said his aim was not to win awards but to save lives. He added that it was an honor to have saved millions of lives through his peace efforts in the past.
Meanwhile, reports from Pakistan confirmed that the Pakistan Army launched a strong counter-operation against militants following recent attacks by the Afghan Taliban and the India-backed faction Fitanat-ul-Khawarij. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan conducted aerial strikes and ground operations targeting militant hideouts and checkpoints along the border region.
Despite the successful strikes, Pakistan also suffered losses as 23 soldiers embraced martyrdom while defending the nation. Security sources said that the militants fled their positions after facing heavy retaliation from Pakistani forces. The operation marks one of the largest responses in recent months, demonstrating Pakistan’s determination to protect its borders and maintain stability in the region.
