Summer holidays in Punjab schools are set to end on August 15, but parents are still waiting for official confirmation on whether the provincial government will extend the break.
Regular classes are expected to resume gradually, with low attendance likely on the first day. If no extension in summer holidays is announced, full academic activities will begin from 18 August, after the weekend. So far, the provincial government has not issued any fresh notification regarding an extension of summer vacations. Officials have stated that the final decision will be taken after reviewing the weather situation across the province.
Meanwhile, school timings for the upcoming academic term have already been announced. For single-shift schools, classes will run from Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, and on Friday from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM. In the case of double-shift schools, the morning session will follow the same timing as single-shift institutions. The evening session will be held from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday to Thursday, and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM on Friday.
The Education Department has directed all school administrations to follow the announced schedule and ensure readiness for the new term. Parents are advised to stay alert for any official updates, especially related to weather-based changes in reopening plans. The situation is being monitored closely, and any changes in the school calendar will be communicated through proper channels.
