Islamabad: The renowned Pakistani singer Sheema Kermani was thrown out of the UK Embassy in Pakistan after she raised a slogan for the people of Gaza stating ‘Ceasefire Now’.
The popular singer and social activist was kicked out of the UK embassy on her pro-Palestinian stance after she raised a Palestinian slogan to show her solidarity with the people of Palestine.
Sheema Kermani is a social activist and a singer. She’s also the founder of a cultural action group known as Tehrik-e-Niswan. She was part of a programme that was held at the British Deputy High Commission for the birthday celebration of King Charles III.
Sheema states that they were giving speeches and were offering felicitations for King Charles when she raised voice for the people of Gaza who have been suffering by the hands of Israel. The slogan she raised was ‘Ceasefire Now’ upon which security personnel surrounded her and escorted her out of the event.
Numerous high-profile individuals such as politicians, artists, and bureaucrats were also attending the event.
