Saudi Arabia has announced that the meningitis vaccine will be mandatory for all pilgrims participating in Hajj 2025.
Without this vaccination, individuals will not be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage. Hajj registration and package processing will also be restricted for those who fail to comply.
This measure aims to prevent the spread of infectious diseases during Hajj. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has also instructed pilgrims to carry vaccination certificates and other health documents.
Meanwhile, Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain announced a reduction in Hajj package costs. The 40-day Hajj package has been reduced by Rs25000, now costing Rs1050000, with a third installment of Rs450000. The 25-day short Hajj package saw a Rs50000 reduction, bringing the price to Rs1100000, with a third installment of Rs500000. Pilgrims must submit the third installment between February 6 and 14.
Additionally, over Rs4.75 billion will be refunded to Hajj pilgrims from 2024. Refunds, based on accommodation and airfare costs, will range from Rs20000 to Rs140000.
