Is 24 January Holiday for Schools, Banks in Islamabad?

ISLAMABAD – Numerous posts and notifications have claimed that January 24, 2024 will be a holiday for Schools and Banks in Islamabad.

However, the notification issued and being circulated over the web and social media channels has been deemed fake by the DC Islamabad.

The notification stated that January 23, 24 will be observed as a holiday in the Capital territory for Banks and Schools alongside commercial businesses as everything will be closed.

However, the notification appears to be forged as clarified by DC Islamabad after scrutiny and posted it on his official X account.

Three universities were closed in Islamabad on January 22 due to security reasons which lead to these rumours spreading.

Three universities including National Defence University, Bahria University, and Air University were closed due to security concerns. January 23 and January 24 are working days in the Capital Territory of Islamabad and any news circulating is entirely made up and has no authentic origins.
