Renowned Chef Zakir Hussain passed away at the age of 58 after battling a kidney disease and undergoing dialysis, his nephew Shayan Qureshi said on Monday night.
He was known for his exceptional skills and contribution to Pakistan’s cooking scene through television and culinary education. According to his nephew Shayan Qureshi, Chef Zakir had been suffering from kidney disease and was undergoing regular dialysis. He was receiving treatment in the United States, where doctors had given their opinion on his condition. A month ago, Chef Zakir returned to Pakistan after his treatment abroad.
His funeral prayers will be held tomorrow after Asr prayers at Jamia Rashidiya Malir, Saudabad, Karachi.
Chef Zakir began his journey in the world of cooking decades ago and quickly became a household name through his television appearances. His warm personality, professional approach, and ability to make complex recipes simple won the hearts of millions across the country.
