The Balochistan government has reopened 1400 out of 3400 previously closed schools in the province to promote education and improve literacy rates.
The Balochistan government is making major progress in restoring inactive schools across the province. Speaking to APP, a government official said that 1800 more schools will become operational by the end of this month after the appointment of new teachers under the School Education Department. The remaining 200 schools are expected to reopen in the third phase.
The official confirmed that appointment letters for teachers selected on merit will be issued soon. Over 1400 previously inactive schools have already been reactivated through recent contractual hiring.
He added that the recruitment drive will continue until all non-functional schools are made operational. The government is committed to ensuring that no school remains closed due to a shortage of teachers or lack of basic facilities.
The official stated that the restoration of inactive schools, timely recruitment of teachers, and improving the quality of education remain top priorities for the provincial government. He said education is the basic right of every child, and providing that right is a shared responsibility.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the government is actively working to reopen schools, especially in underdeveloped and remote areas. The goal is to ensure that all children, regardless of location, have access to education.
Special attention will be given to schools in far-flung areas where many children remain out of school due to closures. The official stressed that every effort is being made to bring these children back to classrooms as quickly as possible.
