Chery International’s Omoda and Jaecoo broke plans to launch cars in Pakistan. Mr Wang is the Branch Manager of Omoda and Jaecoo explained his plans for launching vehicles in Pakistan.
According to sources, Omoda and Jaecoo are set to launch the Omoda E5 EV and J7 PHEV in Pakistan.
Omoda E5 looks to attract Gen-Z customers due to its Electric powered engine and stylish design. However, the J7 PHEV is an off-road vehicle which comes in the luxury vehicle category and is aimed at the elite class of Pakistan.
Omoda to Launch Electric Charging Stations for EVs in Pakistan
Omoda’s E5 will be a direct competitor to the MG ZS EV. Both vehicles are electric powered and are aimed at Gen Z buyers. With both Omoda and E5 offering similar features, it’ll be tough competition for both automobile giants.
Omoda is also all set to launch electric charging stations in numerous cities of Pakistan due to the lack of charging station infrastructure in the country.
Omoda E5 Price in Pakistan
Omoda E5’s price in Pakistan has not yet been finalised by the company. However, the price will definitely be competitive to target the customers and be a key player in the automobile sector of Pakistan.
E5 is expected to be of Rs 1 crore in Malaysia but the price in Pakistan will definitely be slightly higher due to the extreme inflation alongside taxes and customs duty.
Chery’s presence in Pakistan
Chery International is a big player when it comes to passenger vehicles. The company has been the biggest exporter for passenger vehicles to China. In 2023, the company exported almost a million passenger vehicles to China and has consistently been the biggest export of passenger vehicles in 2021 as well.
Currently Ghandhara motors assemble two Cherry vehicles in Pakistan, namely the Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro. However, Chery has big plans for Pakistan after their revenue for the year 2023 exceeded $300 billion.
