The government is organizing a multi-party meeting to unanimously condemn the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in the Middle East.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and JI Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Friday at the PM House. Sharif assured them of government plans to organize a multi-party conference on the Palestine issue.
The three leaders decided to observe the “Day of Solidarity with Palestine” in observance of the Palestinian people after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, of last year.
According to a government news release, the prime minister will call an All Parties Conference to discuss the issue. Plans are to hold national conferences and assemblies to support the Palestinian people and voice opposition to the continued Israeli attack.
The three leaders made the decision to denounce the ongoing treatment of Palestinians. At the meeting, a committee to organize the multi-party conference and the “Day of Solidarity” was formed.
On the committee will be Sherry Rehman, the leader of the PML-N; Khawaja Saad Rafique; Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister; and PPP leader Nayyar Bukhari. The meeting is anticipated to be attended by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Mr. Bhutto-Zardari spoke during the meeting, denouncing the crimes Israel has committed in Palestine and expressing his complete support for the “Day of Solidarity.”.” JI’s position on the matter and its demonstration of support for innocent Palestinians were also applauded during the conference.
The JI emir met with Mr. Bhutto-Zardari earlier on Thursday and asked that he join his party on October 7 for a protest march in the federal capital.
Additionally, he requested the PPP chairman’s support and the government’s involvement in the demonstration.
