The fast food giant McDonalds has addressed the Pakistani community amidst the global boycott of the brand. Ever since October 7, a Global boycott has been implemented by people after a franchise of McDonalds offered free meals to IDF soldiers.
McDonald’s Pakistan stated that they are a totally independent franchise and is locally owned. They have no say in the company’s broader decisions whatsoever. Moreover, the franchises of Pakistan are locally and privately owned and they are not influenced by Global branches or have a say in their broader policies and decision-making.
However, they assured the customers that they are independent and to attract further customers, they have reduced their prices massively by almost 60%.
McDonald’s across the world faced a tremendous backlash after their display of solidarity with Israel and provision of meals to IDF soldiers. Afterwards, they’ve seen a massive decrease in sales across the world alongside Starbucks.
