The Mobile Phone Installment Scheme by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has been delayed due to numerous setbacks after all the hype.
The Mobile Phone Instalment Scheme was scheduled to launch in January but the approval from the cabinet never came.
This scheme is extremely beneficial for the downtrodden and low-salaried people of Pakistan as it would’ve provided smartphones to the individuals on interest-free installments.
The Scheme has faced setbacks as the cabinet has sent back the proposal after thorough scrutiny.
Caretaker Minister of IT&T, Dr. Umar Saif had put quite the efforts in and collaborated with all Telecom players in Pakistan alongside PTA.

The interest free installments would have been provided to customers and failure to pay the installments would result in the PTA blockages of allotted phones.
The initiative was all set to launch in January but has been postponed as the approval of cabinet has not been received yet.
A new plan with numerous tweeks is set to be sent to the Cabinet this week and if it is approved the scheme could launch in the last week of January.
Otherwise, the Ministry’s mobile phone installment plans scheme will be launched in the first week of February 2024.
