New School Timings, Dress Code Announced for Punjab Due to Rising Cold

PUNJAB – The Punjab Schools have now announced new school timings and dress code due to the rising cold weather and fog conditions.

A notification has been issued and the new timings and dress code will be implemented starting January 10 till February to ensure the safety of school-going children.

As per the new notification and policy, school timings have been changed. In the new timings, Schools will commence from 9:00 am in the morning to 2:00 pm in the afternoon from Monday to Saturday. For Friday, the school commencement time will be the same but closing time will be at noon.

Moreover, schools were expected to reopen on January 1, 2023. However, due to the extreme cold and fog conditions, schools are still closed for the safety and security of children.

Even private schools have been closed till January 8, 2024 due to the harsh weather.

Moreover, restrictions of coloured jackets and sweaters have been lifted as well and now students wear additional warm clothing on top of their uniform as well.

Furthermore, the decision to keep the schools closed due to winter vacations was not perceived well as they rescheduled the opening of schools on January 7, 2024.
