Good news for freelancers as Caretaker IT&T Minister, Dr. Umar Saif stated that freelancers will not be able to receive payments through PayPal.
Freelancers in Pakistan had long desired for a path to somehow use PayPal as a means for transactions but weren’t given so.
However, now Dr. Umar Saif states that freelancers can now do this as Pakistan has reached an agreement with a third-party for these transitions.
Note that PayPal is not officially coming to Pakistan but the payments from abroad will be sent via a third party through PayPal.
Freelancers will not have to make any account on PayPal for this purpose. The third party company is already operating in more than 190 countries as of now.
Moreover, the agreement with the party states that inward remittances will be allowed through PayPal as payments will be sent to the third party, and they will send it to the third party here.
The IT Ministry has been trying hard to sustain the environment so that freelancers in Pakistan can succeed and thrive as Dr. Umar believes that they’re a big asset to the Pakistani community.
